A flood of folks are petitioning to remove Trump from Home Alone 2 and the film’s star Macaulay Culkin is completely down for it.
It just gets worse and worse for a certain Donald Trump. After catching COVID-19, getting banned from Twitter (and basically every social network) and then getting impeached (again), folks are now petitioning to digitally erase and replace Trump in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.
For those who are unaware of how Trump is connected to this Christmas classic, the impeached president briefly appeared in the movie as the bloke who Kevin asks for directions to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time and used as leverage to force his way into the film.
Anyway, so after calls to remove Trump from the Home Alone sequel started getting louder, things got pushed to the next level when the film’s star Macaulay Culkin chimed in.
In response to a tweet asking “to digitally replace trump in ‘home alone 2’ with 40-year-old macaulay culkin,” Culkin himself responded with a single word supporting this request: “Sold.”
Sold.

Someone then made good on this request by actually digitally erasing Trump from the film in hilarious fashion, resulting an an alternative version of the aforementioned scene in which Kevin is seen interacting with a non-speaking blob trying to blend in to the hotel background but failing miserably.
Culkin caught wind of this genius edit and responded with another single word tweet: “Bravo.”
Bravo.

Will Trump actually get cut out of the Home Alone sequel? Probably not but it’s hilarious to see the internet doing its best to accomplish this little edit.
With all that’s going on with Trump at the moment – he’s got lawsuits, a second impeachment trial, and the pending end to his presidency – one has to imagine that his Home Alone cameo is low on his priority list at the moment, though we’ve been proven wrong before.
