If you also forgot to spend your Sunday evening meal-prepping because you fell asleep on the couch binge-watching Studio Ghibli movies and are now stuck in a quagmire trying to decide what to eat for lunch, we feel you and we come bearing a solution. Mad Mex is doing the lord’s work and has introduced a MeatFree Monday initiative.

From this day forward, every Monday you’ll be able to cop $2 off your Mad Mex meal if you opt for a plant-based degustation. So, like, you won’t be wracked with financial guilt every time you opt for adding guacamole because we’ve crunched the numbers (all two of them) and now that creamy avocado add on is essentially free.

There are a bunch of cracker cruelty-free options for you to indulge in. Whether it be their new BBQ Vegan Chicken filling or their beloved Veggie Rancheros concoction. Personally, I am a woman that finds great fulfilment in the simple things, and love to opt for the humble, understated, yet powerful punch that black beans pack. There’s something for everyone.

“Our Manifesto and Meatfree Mondays offer is the latest part of our long-term commitment to helping our amigos make a difference to the environment and to living their best life,” shares Clovis Young, Mad Mex Founder and CEO. “It’s often overwhelming to know where or how to start, so we wanted to make it as easy as possible to switch up at least meal a week, because collectively, this simple act can make a real and lasting change to our planet. We don’t believe you should have to sacrifice taste and flavour either, that’s why at Mad Mex we remain totally committed to sourcing the best plant-based ingredients to create really delicious meals that can satisfy everyone – meat eaters, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans alike.”

A bunch of other foodie favourites are jumping aboard the plant-based revolution. Last month, Cadbury announced that they were working on a vegan iteration of their iconic Dairy Milk bar. Whilst Four’N’Twenty pies introduced a game-changing plant-based take on their meat pie.
