Former Neighbours star, Madeleine West, has expressed her desire to bring back either one of her characters, Dee Bliss and Andrea Somers.
West played the character Dee, who was presumed dead when her on-screen husband Toadie drove their car off a cliff on their wedding day. However, Dee never really died, so she returned to the soap years later, and West also returned to the soap as Dee’s evil twin sister, Andrea.
The beloved Australian soap opera has recently returned to production, and West is hoping that fans will lobby Network Ten and Amazon to make it happen.
West, who is currently touring around Australia with her one-woman show, The Very Last List of Vivian Walker, sees the potential return of her Neighbours characters as an opportunity to provide closure to the storyline and show fans what the two have been up to.
“I’d certainly love the opportunity to – if not to bring closure – and at least show the fans what Dee and Andrea have been up to, and I’m sure in Andrea’s case, it can’t have been anything good,” she told Daily Telegraph.
The actress, who recently starred in the Predatory podcast, sees her time on Neighbours as a defining moment in her life that has helped shape who she is today. Despite being asked to participate in a tribute to the show, West was unable to return to TV production due to her involvement in Predatory.
While fans will have to wait for the return of Dee and Andrea, they can currently catch West in her live musical and theatrical performance of Megan Albany’s acclaimed novel, The Very Last List of Vivian Walker.
