Moms want the best for us, but as MAFS star Al Perkins has revealed, their rules might just be a tad bit too much for our potential partners.
Those who have watched Al Perkins on MAFS will know that the star and his mother Joyce are exceptionally close, so much so that he still lives at home with her.
Even when Perkins has made the move to another major reality show – Love Island Australia – his living situation hasn’t changed… even though his mum isn’t subtle in dropping hints that he should move out.
“My mum wants to kick me out,” Al told So Dramatic! in a recent conversation. “She’s always mentioning it to my friends, saying, ‘get Al to move out with you.”
But despite the creature comforts that come with being a ‘mummy’s boy’ – “My mum still packs my lunches,” Al said – Perkins also revealed that his residential status was a ‘turn-off’ for women, especially considering some rules his mother has in place.
“I do believe it’s a turn-off for girls, especially if I tell them I live at home,” Al revealed.“I say, ‘If you want to come over, we have to leave the door open’, and people are very shocked by that.”
To be fair, is there anyone with a closed-doors policy at home? Didn’t think so. Although, with how insistent Al’s mom is on him moving out, maybe it’s another tactic to get him to consider an independent living space?

Perkins’ ‘gentleman sausage’ might not get a lot of action at home, but things certainly changed for him on Love Island. In a recent appearance on the Kyle and Jackie-O Show, Perkins revealed that he’d gotten down and dirty inside the villa: “Let’s just say my gentleman sausage gets some action at some point.”
Upon being probed – pun not intended – Perkins was diplomatic as could have been: “Yeah. A bit of, a bit of insertion happens.”
