Honestly, Daniel, do better. The MAFS star’s latest Instagram tirade is being called out for fat-shaming and body-shaming.

Sometimes, you can see why the words ‘villain’ are used in the context of MAFS Daniel Holmes. The reality star’s latest Instagram rant is being rightfully called out for being problematic – especially considering Holmes’ occupation as a personal trainer.

Holmes recently shared a picture of a plus-sized mannequin in a store, dressed in athleisure. However, he wasn’t talking about inclusivity or empowerment – because how dare people not have stick-thin, skinny bodies?

“Those that say this is empowering are completely delusional. It’s promoting early death. There’s no power in that.” Holmes wrote. What’s more – the photo of the mannequin isn’t something new. It’s presumably been circulating since 2019, which is exactly where we had expected to leave behind conversations about fat-shaming.

Holmes’ caption raised quite a few eyebrows, with some pointing out that given his profession as a personal trainer, his views were ‘dangerous’ to say the least.

One comment claimed he wanted to be ‘our answer to Andrew Tate’ while another said: “Confused about his message here “promoting early death” yet how ever would an overweight person exercise to lose weight? (Or more importantly to get healthy- being thin doesn’t always equal being healthy) without the clothes to fit and enable them?”

This isn’t the first time Holmes has been pulled up online for something controversial. In October, Holmes posted on his Instagram stories: “Team Kanye, Team Tate, Team trump, Team stevewilldoit, TEAM FREE SPEECH.”

This was presumably in support of Kanye West – who, at the time, was embroiled in controversy around anti-semitic comments he had made, not to mention the ‘White Lives Matter’ shirts that already had him in hot water.

Earlier in December, Holmes had his driving ban extended for six months and was fined when he failed to show up for a court hearing discussing him driving with a suspended licence back in July.
