MAFS star Daniel Holmes is back, and he’s doubled down on his fatphobic comments – as if the first time wasn’t enough.
Say what you want about Daniel Holmes – at least he’s consistent in creating and getting involved in controversy. The MAFS star raised eyebrows back in November when he claimed that a size-inclusive athleisure line was promoting ‘early death.’ Then, he picked on another size-inclusive campaign by Calvin Klein, calling it ‘ideological subversion’.
Now, Daniel has opened up to So Dramatic! about what he meant by the phrase… and it’s more of him doubling down on fatphobia.
“The reality is a huge portion of humans living in the first world are obese. There’s pressure on businesses and financial gain for food companies to normalise obesity,” Daniel said to So Dramatic! “As much as there’s backlash for voicing this, it needs to be pointed out, being obese is deadly!”
He added: “It shouldn’t be normalised, there are serious health concerns related to it and there’s very wealthy companies that benefit financially from keeping this ‘acceptance’ narrative [sic].”
He then claimed his background in fitness made him an expert on the matter… or something of the like: “This isn’t a new subject to me but one that I see getting misconstrued and taken in a dangerous direction. In my opinion [sic].”
Back in November, Daniel shared a picture of a plus-sized mannequin dressed in athletic wear on his Instagram story, saying: “Those that say this is empowering are completely delusional. This is promoting early death. There’s no power in that.”

This isn’t the first time Daniel has erred on the side of questionable opinions. In October – when controversy around Kanye West was at an all-time high, thanks to his racist ‘White Lives Matter’ shirts and anti-semitic comments – Daniel supported him on social media.
He said on his stories: “Team Kanye, Team Tate, Team trump, Team stevewilldoit, TEAM FREE SPEECH.” Interestingly, West was dropped by major brands for his antics. Andrew Tate was busted recently on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group. And we all know what happened with Trump.
