RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under host Rhys Nicholson deserves a nod for this epic ‘drag’ of MAFS star Dean Wells.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under host Rhys Nicholson wasn’t too keen on Dean Wells’s opinion on ABC’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

For reference, Nicholson hosted this year’s NYE variety show with Charlie Pickering, which featured a diverse lineup of performances and celebs. But MAFS star Dean Wells didn’t appreciate his ‘taxpayer dollars’ going to such an event.

“Tax payer dollars really getting put to good use here,” Wells commented on ABC’s Instagram, which had posted a video of Nicholson in a promotional for the event.

Not one to be outdone, Nicholson replied: “Happy New Year Dean! I don’t know who you are either but great neck-to-head ratio! Congrats [sic]!”

Nicholson later shared the video as well as a screenshot of the interaction on their stories, along with a cheeky caption. “Love making new friends. See you on NYE on ABC,” they wrote.

Picking fights online, however, is nothing new for Wells. Earlier this year, he was slammed by the famous Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck. In August, Wells bit off more than he could chew when he started commenting on a Celeb Spellcheck post guessing the names of the future children of influencers.

“What a great life you’ve carved out for yourself, is this literally all you do?” Wells said. The account quickly fired back: “Literally all you do is comment sexist, homophobic and racist things on everyone else’s page looking for attention. Bye.”

Wells still did not let up on spamming the account’s comment section, and eventually ended up being spell checked himself. “Your really making a difference by talking about the potential baby names of celebrities. [sic].” Wells wrote to the account, and promptly received the reply: “You’re*.”

When people called out Wells for following the account himself, he responded that it made him ‘feel good’ about his life ‘seeing how pathetic some people are.’

“Not a 40 year old man starting beef with strangers on a Wednesday night over a lighthearted post,” one comment read.

Another user added: “I just had a quick glimpse at your page. You’re a blue ticked homophobic nobody who dances on a TV show… and you’re trying to call people out?”
