Australia has barely had one day to process the barmy finale of MAFS S9, but the search for brave contestants for the show’s new season is already underway.
Channel Nine and Endemol Shine Australia have released a casting call for the next batch of foolhardy brides and grooms for MAFS S10.
“Married At First Sight is searching for men and women of all ages and backgrounds who are genuinely committed to finding love,” the description reads. “This ground breaking social experiment uses science and psychology to help Australian singles meet their perfect partner. But there’s a catch… you won’t get to meet your future husband or wife until your wedding day!”
“This is not a competition and there is no cash prize up for grabs. Instead, you could walk away with the most valuable prize of all… true love,” the casting call adds, which honestly is very wishful thinking.
If you want to be in MAFS S10, all you need is to be genuine about finding the love of your life and be free for up to four months between late July and November.
If you watched some of the car crash events of the show’s latest season, though, you might think twice about applying. There was a contestant with previous for homophobia and misogyny; nude photos of one of the brides were shared without her consent; ridiculous fights were had and unfortunate toxic behaviour was rife.
Or perhaps listen to the words of Olivia Frazer, one of S9’s most notorious contestants. When asked what advice she would give to future MAFS participants, she simply responded: “Do not do it! Run!”
