The leaked audition tape of MAFS bride Melissa shows her being upfront about her fears of staying single forever.

MAFS bride Melissa has not had a good run on the show. First, the bride – renowned for her liberal approach to sex – was paired with the conservative Josh White on the show: only, it wasn’t the opposites attract storyline that producers had probably hoped for. Melissa and Josh were slated for a controversial end. That’s not all: Josh  is now reportedly seeing another MAFS bride, Lyndall.

Now, Melissa’s leaked audition tape – as reported by So Dramatic! – shows that the show might have been everything she had hoped would not happen in her love life.

In making her case for why she should be on the show, Melissa admits that she feared she would stay single forever if MAFS did not take her. “Let me tell you. I feel like I’m going to become a single spinster if MAFS does not take me,” she says.

Confessing that not being in a ‘committed’ relationship ‘scared the shit’ out of her, but her dating life hadn’t panned out thus far.

“[Available men] might see me as a one-night girl, I’m not sure. But I’m far from that. I really want to be in a committed relationship,” she said. “If [my groom is] an amazing person and they are genuinely kind and loving, I feel like I will fall in love with them straight away. Just a nice human.“

Ironically, Melissa had also explicitly mentioned that it was important for her values to ‘align’ with that of her partner – which makes pairing her with Josh all the more curious.

To everyone’s surprise, Melissa’s partner Josh walked out of the show after feeling ‘extremely pressured and overwhelmed’ during the Intimacy Week. Throughout his stay, Josh had repeatedly expressed feeling uncomfortable with Melissa’s open approach to sex, so ‘having the experts force more intimacy on them’ was something he could not deal with.
