A stint on a reality show can quickly transform an unknown Aussie into a household name – especially when the series is as popular as MAFS Australia.

Olivia Frazer is one of those people – and she’s revealed that her new fame has come with so much backlash that it’s worsened her depression and even caused her to contemplate suicide.

Frazer will allegedly make the startling admission during an episode of Where’s Your Head At? podcast, which will go live tomorrow. News.com.au have reported that she also told the podcast she was “really, really depressed”.

“I’ve never had depression like this,” Olivia told co-hosts Anna McEvoy and Matt Zukowski.

“I’ve honestly never been this close to – sorry to get a bit graphic – really thinking about taking my own life.”

Frazer told the hosts that her on-screen husband, and now boyfriend, Jackson Leonie, helped her through the hard times she experienced once the show began airing.

“To have Jack be my absolute anchor [through this], I think it speaks to the relationship and the man he is,” she said, adding that “only in the last week” she has noticed that she’s feeling happier.

“Now it’s a bit like … Smile and wave,” she added.

During her time on MAFS, Frazer constantly found herself in the middle of explosive situations. In particular, Frazer and co-star Domenica Carlarco repeatedly locked horns. The two women are currently embroiled in an “ongoing legal situation” related to a feud between them that saw Carlarco smash a wine glass.
