Bluesfest side shows feature a Sydney tour date from The Magic Band & Grandmothers of Invention.
Original rockers Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band combine elements of free jazz, blues and rock, to produce a truly unique sound and will be joined by Grandmothers of Invention in a newly announced show in Sydney as part of the just announced Bluesfest side shows. The world lost The Captain in 2010 but The Magic Band continues his musical legacy of near-chaotic improvised blend of Delta blues, avant-garde jazz, 20th-century classical music, and rock & roll. If you’re not going to make Bluesfest then atch them playing The Metro in Sydney that same weekend.
