Donald Gorske is celebrating eating a Big Mac every single day for the past 50 years, sharing that he’s consumed over a whopping 32,340 burgers over the last five decades.

Gorske ate his first Big Mac on the 17th May 1972 and set a Guinness World Record in 1999 for the most Big Macs eaten in a lifetime. He broke that record last year with another entry of 32,340 Big Mac’s.

“I’ve only missed eight days in the past 50 years, which is phenomenal. And like I say, I count every Big Mac. I’ve counted every Big Mac I’ve eaten in my whole life.” he told Spectrum News Milwaukee.

The 68-year-old visited the McDonald’s restaurant where he ate his first Big Mac to celebrate the anniversary. The branch had erected a message on their sign reading, “Congrats Don on 50 years of Macs”.

Gorske told Guinness that he still loves the taste of Big Macs – even after 50 years of eating at least one of the burgers per day.

“When I like something, I stick with it all the time,” he said.

“In that moment I said ‘I’m going to probably eat these for the rest of my life’,” he said of the first time he tasted the iconic burger.

Gorske told the publication that he’d tried a couple of burgers from other fast-food franchises in the past, but – in his opinion – none of them compare to a Big Mac.

“I had one Burger King Whopper in 1984 and one Topper double burger in 1984. There are a lot of other burger chains that I have never had the desire to try.”

“I’ll probably be eating Big Macs every day for the rest of my life.”
