The hype around Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s upcoming ‘Barbie’ movie has been intense, and the anticipation was only heightened when photos leaked of the two A-listers filming scenes in matching neon rollerskating outfits.

However, Robbie has said that the was “mortified” by the photos – which quickly went viral – and called the public attention towards the snaps “the most humiliating moment’ of her life.

Robbie appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (American time) to promote the upcoming film. During the interview, she discussed the iconic photos which show her and Gosling in matching pink and yellow outfits rollerskating in Venice Beach, California in June.

Midway through a chat with Robbie during which the two were discussing the differences between living in Australia and America, Kimmel whipped out a pap photo of her and Gosling in their bright costumes.

“I can’t tell you how mortified we were, by the way,” Robbie instantly responded. “We look like we’re, like, laughing, having fun, but dying on the inside.”

She added, ‘I was like, this is the most humiliating moment of my life. Didn’t realise it was going to go everywhere.”

Margot explained that the majority of the Barbie scenes were filmed in private areas, so pap shots couldn’t leak.

“I knew that we had some exteriors to shoot in L.A. I knew, OK, once you’re doing exteriors, you’re gonna get papped. There’s probably going to be a little crowd of people who are going to take notice because, you know, the fluoro,” she said. “We stand out a little in the outfits.”

“And, so I knew there would be a little bit of attention, and probably some photos would get out there, but not like it did. It was, like, mad. It was like hundreds of people watching [while we filmed the scenes].”

The ‘Barbie’ movie which, of course, stars Robbie as the titular character, will be released on July 21, 2023. Along with Gosling as Ken the film’s cast includes Kate McKinnon, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Hari Nef and Will Ferrell.
