There’s a lot of discourse surrounding which animated food incites feelings of insatiable hunger. Some can’t watch Ratatouille without drooling over the peasant’s dish, others lose their marbles over the sumptuous Ba-wan in Spirited Away. Personally, I think the animated worlds greatest gastronomical achievement are the Himalayan snow cones from Monsters Inc. I can’t explain exactly what it is about the devilish treat that invokes such a visceral reaction, but it does.

The only downside to this fantasy is that snow cones are kind of impossible to get. Like unless you’re trying to leg it to some decrepit showground there really isn’t that big of a market for snow cones, which is totally morally bankrupt. Thankfully, the good lords at Cuckoo in Marly Bar heard my personal pleas and have come up with a solution beyond my wildest imagination.

Cuckoo is embracing all things alpine and has introduced alcoholic snow cones to their menu. Let that sink in for a moment. Snow cones, but alcoholic. Unbelievable.

Made with a choice selection of De Kuyper schnapps and liqueurs, the snow cones are the ultimate way to embrace the vinyl dregs of summer. For $5 a pop you can indulge in Watermelon Margarita, Strawberry Daiquiri, Peach Iced Tea or Bramble iterations of your favourite childhood treat.

What are you waiting for? Head to Marly Bar now and live out your WELCOME TO THE HIMALAYAS dreams.
