Influencer and former MAFS star Martha Kalifatidis has shared a graphic update about how she’s recovering after giving birth to her son Lucius six weeks ago.

“We just got back from my six-week appointment with the obstetrician. Everything went really well. I had a pap smear and my stitches have healed really well,” she told her followers on Instagram.

‘”I do have a minor prolapse which is quite gorgeous but I guess that’s what comes after two hours of pushing. She [the obstetrician] said it will probably heal itself in a few weeks, or if I do kegel exercises it’ll go away a lot faster.”

She added: “She also said I can start exercising which is exciting because I cannot wait to start doing some exercises.”

Martha and her fiance Michael Brunelli, who she met on MAFS, announced the news of their son’s birth in late February with a sweet snapshot of their newborn asleep in a hospital cot, surrounded by beautiful white roses.

Martha gushed in the caption, “Lucius Brunelli. He’s here, he’s perfect.”

Michael quickly cleared up any confusion around the pronunciation of their son’s first name. “LOO-SHUS” if you’re wondering 😅💙,” he wrote in the comments section.

Throughout her pregnancy, Martha was very open about her struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is essentially very severe morning sickness and involves symptoms like chronic nausea, vomiting, dizziness and electrolyte disturbance.

In September last year, Martha explained the effect the condition – which occurs in an estimated  0.5 to 2% of pregnant women – has had on her.

“At five weeks I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is basically severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is like 24/7. I literally did not get out of bed for two months, I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days that I did not even get up to pee,” she said at the time.
