Marvel have officially released the trailer for Loki, a TV series featuring everyone’s favourite Marvel villain.
The God of Mischief and Thor’s brother, Loki has risen to prominence (and controversially found a place in our hearts) over the last decade, so much so that he is receiving his own TV show, with Tom Hiddleston continuing to reprise the role.
Last year Avengers: Endgame took the world by storm, with its poignant ending that tugged on our heartstrings, leaving us all wishing that it wouldn’t be the end of the journey. As we kept the tissue boxes close, it became the highest-grossing film of all time, overtaking James Cameron’s Avatar.
While Endgame still holds that title in 2020, Marvel are continuing to bring the people what they want, announcing the series which comes as part of a collection of shows and movies which are set to release in the wake of Endgame.
Deadline has reported that in terms of the timeline of the storyline of the Loki series, it will take place where Avengers: Endgame left off.
While the trailer does its job of leaving majority of the show’s elements a mystery, we’re afforded some information which has already proven to be crucial is sparking the hype for the series.
Loki is also seen dealing with the TVA, abbreviated for the Time Variance Authority. We also learn that Owen Wilson will be a part of the action, with his role in the Loki series being his Marvel debut – a great match, or even no-brainer match as an addition for the comedic tone of the Avengers movies.

The trailer has been released as a part of the latest news from Disney, with announcements also having included that Buzz Lightyear is receiving an origin story movie in 2022.
Marvel’s Loki series will air on Disney+. A specific date has not yet been set, although it’s expected to release in 2021.
