The gaming world was sent into a collective tizzy last year after BioWare announced that they would be dusting off their beloved Mass Effect franchise with an all-new compilation, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.
EA and BioWare will unveil the remastered edition of the trilogy worldwide on May 14th for PC via Origin and Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. The Legendary Edition will also be available to play on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S via backward compatibility.
It was previously confirmed that the forthcoming release will include single-player content for Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, with over than 40 pieces of downloadable content, including story expansions, weapons, and armor packs.
Tweaks across the trilogy include remastered character models, an expanded universal character creator and the option to use ME3’s default female Shepard model throughout. BioWare has confirmed that there are “tens of thousands” of updated visual effects and lighting changes.
A number of new features and nitty-gritty tweaks made to the game have since been revealed on the EA website.
Let’s take a little (spoiler-free) TLDR look at what’s in store below:
