Matt Damon has publicly revealed that George Clooney once took a shit in actor pal Richard Kind’s cat’s litter box.
In an entertaining speech to present the Oscar winner with a Kennedy Center Honour, Damon took the opportunity to poke fun at Clooney, with whom he has been close friends for many years.
“It has been said that my friend George Clooney is the last of the true movie stars,” Damon is heard saying in the clip.
“So I got to thinking about exactly what that meant. Of course, a number of past Kennedy Center honorees have certainly been movie stars in that classic sense. Actors with class and sophistication — Cary Grant, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck.”
He continued, “And then I think of George… a man who defected in Richard Kind’s kitty litter box as a joke.”
KCurb Your Enthusiasm star King, who was onstage during the speech, was spotted nodding in approval to Damon’s admission and gave a salute.
Discussion of the Ocean’s 11 star’s antics didn’t end there, with Damon continuing, “A man who once stole Bill Clinton’s stationery and wrote fake notes to actors saying how much the president loved their movies.”

The camera then pans to Clooney, who simply shrugged and smile over the wild anecdotes.
It’s not the first time the litter box incident has been discussed, with Clooney and Kind discussing the prank on the SmartLess podcast in 2021, during which the movie star said he continually cleaned out Kind’s cat’s litter box to the point where the latter believed his cat was constipated.
“[I thought] my little kitty. He hasn’t taken a s— in, I think, three days,” Kind recalled to Clooney.
However, as far as Kind was aware, his cat still hadn’t had a bowel movement.
“The light bulb, you know, goes off, and I realised what I must do, which is take a s— in the cat box,” Clooney said on the podcast.
“He’s in there for like a minute, and I don’t hear anything and then, all of a sudden, I hear, ‘Oh, my God! … I come in and I just, tears coming down my eyes, I’m laughing, and slowly he figures it out.
“He gets madder and madder and, finally, he’s like, ‘I understand humour. Defecation doesn’t make me laugh.'”
