Megan Fox has hit back at the sexist commentary surrounding her four-year age gap with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly.

In a new interview with InStyle,  the 35-year-old actor called out the “ridiculous” way people portray the 31-year-old rapper as a “younger man.”

“You want to talk about patriarchy? The fact that he’s four years younger than me, and people want to act like I’m dating a younger man. He’s 31, and I’m 35,” Fox said.

She continued: “Granted, he’s lived like he’s 19 his whole life, but he isn’t 19. No one would blink twice if George Clooney was dating someone four years younger.”

“Four years? Go fuck yourself. We would have been in high school together. That’s so ridiculous that women are treated that way.”

The pair began dating over a year ago after meeting on the set of the upcoming film Midnight in the Switchgrass, following Fox’s split with former husband Brian Austin Green.

Elsewhere in the interview, Fox confirmed that she didn’t meet Kelly until she had already filed for divorce from Green, saying he had “nothing to do with [the split]”.

“I came home, and my whole life changed… I got a divorce and I started working more and doing more things. I ended up meeting Colson [Kelly], and then literally everything exploded from there,” she said.

Fox and Green announced their separation in May last year after 10 years of marriage and three children together.

Green is now in a relationship with Australian professional dancer and TV personality Sharna Burgess.
