“After a lot of careful consideration, of a number of factors, the board and executive decided it was time to exit the gaming industry.”
This will include the club selling the Leighoak venue, the Mooney Valley Racing Club, and not renewing their gaming entitlements at the Bentleigh Club. It was noted those latter entitlements wont cease until August 2022, so it’s not immediate, but it’s still an important step forward.
CEO Peter Jackson said on the decision: “This is an independent decision, and didn’t take into account any other clubs. We don’t judge any other clubs either. We have come to this decision ourselves and we are proud of it.”
