It’s almost time to head to that restaurant you’ve always wanted to check out as Midweek Melbourne Money is returning in March.

The popular government initiative is coming back for a third time and it probably won’t be the last. It’s part of the Reignite Melbourne campaign as the city aims to kickstart the hospitality industry as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.

“We want Melbourne to be a city of possibility and it certainly feels that way as people fill our streets with enthusiasm and elation to enjoy summer events. Melbourne has always tingled with a dynamic energy, and after a challenging pandemic period, the buzz is coming back,” Lord Mayor Sally Cap said.

“We recognise though that a sustained effort will be required to reignite the city over the longer term. Based on efforts and discussions so far, I am confident that every industry and sector is aligned to bringing Melbourne back better.”

From Monday, March 7th, you can get a welcome 25% (up to a total of $125) off your bill. It requires a minimum spend of $40 in order to claim.

The initiative will be a first-come-first-served deal, running until the funds are exhausted. With $10 million worth of rebates up for grabs though, there should be enough for everyone to take advantage of the offer. And heads up, the offer can only be claimed between Monday-Thursday, so Fridays are a no go.

Midweek Melbourne Money is available throughout the city, including popular dining areas like Chinatown, Lygon Street, North Melbourne, and Southbank, as well as at hospitality venues within sporting, arts, and theatre precincts.

And with mask mandates and work-from-home protocols coming to an end this week, the initiative couldn’t have come at a better time. All you have to do to access the offer is take a photo of your restaurant receipt and upload it to the Melbourne Money portal here.
