It looks like Kanye West won’t be the only celeb to throw their hat in the ring in a bid to run for president, with the news that Mighty Ducks child star and cryptocurrency billionaire Brock Pierce is running as an independent third party alternative to President Trump and Joe Biden.

The 39-year-old announced his candidacy for President of the United States on the same day as ‘Ye, saying he was running as an Independent in the November 3rd election.

“Whether we go left or right, it doesn’t feel like we are making progress or going forward as a country. We need … game-changing change. It is time to upgrade the operating system of America. America 2.0,” Pierce told the New York Post.

He went on to explain that his main motivation in running for president was his disapproval of Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden.

“I think that neither candidate really connects with the younger generations,” Pierce added. “I am not hearing from either candidate any real vision. I am not hearing anything that really inspires me. I am hearing a lot of negativity.”

While he doesn’t actually intend to win the election, Pierce explained in a previous interview that he was hoping his tactic would lead to “no one” winning the election.

“If a third party such as myself were to win a single state, it becomes possible that no one wins the election. If a third party such as again, ourselves, were to win three states, it becomes likely that no one wins the election. So I’m not trying to win the election. I’m trying to win three states so that no one wins the election.”

Pierce is best known for playing a young Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks and the Disney flick’s sequel, and coincidentally, he also played the son of the president in the 1996 film First Kid alongside Sinbad, where he got to visit the Oval Office and meet Bill Clinton.

“Bill Clinton had a cameo in the movie and Sonny Bono had a cameo and I got to spend some time in the Oval Office,” Pierce recalled.

Following his acting stint, Pierce eventually ventured into cryptocurrency, internet gaming and other tech ventures where he made his vast fortune, with Forbes magazine naming Pierce in the “top 20 wealthiest people in crypto” in 2018, with his estimated net worth being between $700 million and $1.1 billion.
