One of the bonafide classic episodes of The Simpsons — hell, of network television as an inventive and a concept — is ‘Homer At The Bat’, the season three episode in which Mr. Burns packs the nuclear power plant’s softball team with Major League Baseball players in order to win a million-dollar bet.

Twenty-five years on from the original, The Simpsons team have returned to the mound with a one-hour mockumentary, Springfield Of Dreams: Homer At The Bat.

Supersize Me director Morgan Spurlock helms the odd creation, which includes interviews with the likes of Homer, Wiggum, and Moe, and parodies the work of legendary PBS documentarian Ken Burns, as well as Bill Simmons/ESPN’s 30 for 30 series.

Check out the trailer below – the episode airs on Fox Sports in the U.S. this weekend.
