Tired of waiting for the next wild season of MAFS to come along? Thanks to the new Stan Original Series Love Triangle, there’s another reality show to keep you entertained in the meantime.
What’s more, it’s actually the work of the producers of MAFS. Love Triangle, on paper, sounds very much like Love Is Blind, which is probably a good sign considering how hugely popular that Netflix show is.
The show challenges a group of singles to let go of what they believe their perfect partner should be, and instead choose someone without seeing them, based on a deeper connection.
The contestants will be able to text and call their potential matches as they court one another, but they – and the audience – won’t find out what the other person looks like until they make their choice to go on a blind date.
It’s a gigantic decision and should lead to all kinds of awkward situations. Will they like what they see when they first meet? If they don’t, will they be able to overcome a lack of physical attraction to find the beauty within?
After going on their blind first date, each newly formed couple will then move in together for a completely unpredictable relationship journey. According to the show’s official description, viewers should expect “love, heartbreak and a mind-blowing twist that will rock the couples to their core.”
“Love Triangle represents a thrilling new step for Stan as we continue to ramp up our Stan Originals output, leveraging the proven pedigree of the 9Network and the extraordinary makers of Married at First Sight to deliver a sensational new dating format,” Stan Chief Content Officer Cailah Scobie says. “This is going to be an unmissable reality television event.”
