Nando’s is here to help Melbourne get through lockdown with the return of their popular Loaded Chips exclusively for Victorians.

Unofficially dubbed ‘Locked and Loaded Chips’, the chain’s ultimate comfort feed is back on the Victorian menu for a limited-time only. From today, June 4th, they’ll be back because lockdown 4.0 means it’s now necessary to eat our feelings.

Nando’s Loaded Chips first debuted nationally back in 2020 as a secret menu item for PERi-Perks loyalty members only. Luckily for Victorians now though, the item is available to everyone, not just PERi-Perks members.

The recipe for the drool-worthy loaded chips was developed last year with the help of Nando’s Instagram followers, with hundreds of fans weighing in on their favourite toppings and flavours.

The result is enticing: a serving of Nando’s legendary PERi-PERi chips, a mix of juicy grilled capsicum, tomato and onion, your choice of PERi-PERi basting, with creamy aioli, smoky capsicum relish, and delicious feta cheese to top it all off.

And for anyone who’s feeling particularly hungry, you can also throw on a serve of their signature PERi-PERi Chicken, plant-based Great Pretender Protein or Superfood Veggie Patty.

“Loaded Chips are the delicious comfort food we’re all craving right now and are sure to leave your tummy full and spirits lifted,” Mario Manabe, Nando’s Head of Food, said. “Use a fork or use your fingers, Loaded Chips are only here for a short time, so if you’re keen to see how we’ve taken our famous PERi-PERi chips to the next level, get stuck in.”

Here for a good time, not a long time, the Loaded Chips are only available until Tuesday, June 15th 2021, or until stocks last.

They can be yours through the Nando’s Delivery (not available on 3rd party delivery platforms). Prices are $9 without protein, $13 with grilled PERi-PERI Chicken or Superfood Veggie Patty, or $14 with a Great Pretender.
