One of the most legendary sitcoms of our times, The Nanny, is coming to Broadway, with a little help from a familiar face.
Yep, you read that right, everyone’s favourite 90’s sitcom, The Nanny, has been turned into a musical and could you have ever asked for more?
The show that gave birth to one of the greatest casts of characters in any sitcom around, The Nanny took off with it’s exceptional writing, character dynamics and the endlessly addictive sound of Fran Drescher as Ms Fran Fine, the woman with not just style, but flair as well.
Peter Marc Jacobson, the 90’s sitcom co-creator and the legendary Ms Fran Fine (Fran Drescher) are working on the stage adaptation together. The current plans are to turn the television show into an iconic musical, with the plot being a mystery as of this article’s release.
To celebrate this extraordinary news, let’s take a look back on some of the best moments from The Nanny.
The pair released a statement reading, “Nobody is cast yet – we’re plotting – but we feel confident we will find a fabulous actress who is funny, charming and has a great voice.”
It will be a tough job trying to fill the shoes of the original Ms Fran Fine, but with Fran Drescher herself behind the wheel, the chances are extraordinarily high that the actress selected will be more than perfect for the role.

Emmy-award winning twosome Adam Schlesinger & Rachel Bloom will be composing the show’s music.
The production is in very early stages of development but the news that this musical has been green-lit is enough to make us excited as all hell.
Hopefully, some of Fran’s iconic wardrobe will make it onto the stage – seriously those outfits were ahead of their time.
