As the premiere date for MAFS creeps up, Channel 9 has dropped a new trailer for the show and this time, it actually shows the brides and grooms who will get ‘married’ on the upcoming season.
The 30 second clip, which was shared by Daily Mail Australia, starts with a voice-over that says “20 new brides and grooms, hopelessly devoted to love. Bring on the wedding bells.”
In the trailer, ten men and women are shown and one bride can be heard telling her groom, “to put it plainly, I’m not here to fuck spiders.”
The men and women who appear in the new clip will actually feature on the upcoming season, unlike a previously released trailer that showed actors getting married.
In the aforementioned trailer, a blonde man waits at the altar as his brunette bride walks down the aisle. When they come together the cameras show them turning from black and white into colour. However, a source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that this particular couple are hired actors.
“Channel Nine doesn’t want to reveal which couples are matched together so to prevent spoilers they hire actors for the kissing shots,” they said.
In 2021, the channel did a similar thing with the MAFS promo trailer when they hired X Factor finalists Jess and Matt Price. In the clip Jess and Matt can be seen sharing a romantic kiss on a rooftop with fireworks behind them.

Shortly after the trailer aired the couple shared their experience on Instagram.
“We’re tragic MAFS fans, so when Channel Nine hit us up saying they needed a real-life couple to kiss on camera (coz Covid) and asked if we’d be up to putting on our Hollywood acting shoes to re-enact some 50 Shades wedding vibes for their epic new promo… We threw ourselves into the deep end,” they wrote.
“Big love to the incredible crew that brought this together and for all the ridiculous fun and laughs we had on set shooting this.”
Married at First Sight season 10 will premiere on Monday, January 30 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
