Nobody asked it of them, but over the past year OAK has been releasing a series of truly profane flavours.

If you can cast your mind back to the pre-coronavirus times of October 2019, you may recall that OAK committed a crime that should carry a death sentence by releasing three milks inspired by Allens lollies Redskins, Jaffas and Chokito.

Then in April this year, they released three more sweet-inspired milks, with a slightly less menacing aura — Peppermint Crisp, Fantales, and Allen’s Pineapples. Obviously I’m not a psychopath so I didn’t try any of them but Peppermint and Caramel milkshakes to tend to err on the side of slapping, and I’ve always had a soft spot for those chat petrol station pineapple donuts, which I reckon they’d taste like (if anyone wants to clarify this for me, please do.)

Now, it looks as if the iconic milk drink brand is on the precipice of introducing another unorthodox flavour. A post shared to Facebook group, has revealed that OAK is ditching the lollies pastiche and dabbling back in the bakery realm.

As rumours would have it, the milk sommeliers are set to drop a jam donut iteration of their brew. Apparently they’ve already released a cinnamon donut flavoured milk (which again, I wouldn’t know about, because I’m not a psychopath) — so I imagine they’re drawing from a similar palette but with a fruit preserve twist.

Honestly, I think jam donuts rank pretty highly on the hierarchy of treats, but I’m of the opinion that they are untouchable. I think the joy of a jam donut is in the clashing textures and temperatures. When you’re craving a jam donut, you’re not craving the flavour. We all know what jam tastes like. You’re craving noshing into a cinnamon-dusted warm pillow and unleashed a stream of raspberry lava.

Once again I am left baffled by our craven desire to consume things in liquid form, but I’m not here to judge.

There’s been no word yet as to when we can expect the OAK jam donut brew to hit the shelves, it’s all just rumours at this point baby. I’m sure you’ll get your chaotic sugar fix soon.
