After14 years of housing only internal productions, thehighly respected acting college Actor’s Pulseislaunching Pulse Group Theatre, its ownindependent theatre company. The school’stheatre space will bepresenting afull season of existing and original works for 2016.

The highly anticipated addition of PGT as a full-timeextensionof The Actor’s Pulse will provide innovative opportunities to current students and independent artists alike. To mark the launch of PGT, the company will present a slick production of Craig Wright’s dark comedyGrace.

The play centres on Christian sweethearts Sara and Steve, who have decided to move from their comfortable life in Minnesota to take up a lucrative business opportunity in Florida. However, Steve’s plan starts to unwind taking his Christian sensabilities with it, while Sara finds herself helplessly drawn to their captivating, atheist neighbour Sam. What follows is a story of the human condition and how far from grace one can fall.

With its poetic language and manipulations of time and space, Grace is an examination of humanity under pressure – where ambitions for godliness and selflessness are contradicted by the ever-human need for mortal reassurance. This production marks both the inaugural production for PGT and the Australian premiere of this extraordinary play.
