YouTube beauty guru Nikkie De Jager – better known online as NikkieTutorials – has spoken out about a terrifying ordeal in which she and fiancé Dylan Drossaers were “attacked” and robbed at their Netherlands home.

Taking to social media to assure fans that she was “okay” following the scary situation, the 26-year-old detailed the home invasion along with telling fans she would be taking some time out for herself.

“Earlier today one of my biggest nightmares became reality when we got robbed under gunpoint at our own home,” Nikkie began.

“Dylan and myself got attacked but physically we’re okay. Mentally it’s a whole other story.”

“I’m writing this message for now to let you know that we are ‘okay’ and safe,” the Uden-based star concluded, adding, “Thank you for understanding as I take the next couple of days to myself.”

It’s believed the burglary happened after Nikkie took her parents out to dinner.

Following the harrowing incident, Dutch police representatives tweeted: “Just reported a robbery on a house in #Uden. The perpetrators threatened the residents with possibly a firearm and took an unknown loot from them. There are at least 3 perpetrators who fled in a beige passenger car towards the A50.”

“One of the residents suffered superficial injuries,” they added – though it’s not known if it was Nikkie or Dylan who suffered the injuries.

Upon hearing the news, fans and fellow social media influencers were quick to message the makeup guru, with YouTube star GiGi Gorgeous writing: “Oh my God I’m so happy you guys are okay.”

TV personality Sandra Lee also added: “I hope you guys are ok! I’m so sorry!! Thank God you are not hurt at least physically.”

The robbery comes several months after Nikkie De Jager came out as transgender in an emotional video where she explained that she had been the target of a “vile” blackmail plot that threatened to “expose” her.

“I want to start the year off with the truth, I want to start the year off by finally revealing a part of my life that has made me who I am,” Nikkie said in the video titled ‘I am coming out’.

“I want to talk about a part of myself that makes me, me. I can’t believe I’m saying this today to all of you for the entire world to see but damn it feels good to finally do it.”

“When I was younger, I was born in the wrong body which means that I am transgender. Now, so surreal saying this. Filming this video is scary but it feels so liberating and freeing,” she said in the 17-minute clip.

“I am NikkieTutorials and I am Nikkie. I am me. We don’t need labels. If we are going to put a label on it, yes, I am transgender. But at the end of the day, I am me. And at the end of the day, you are you.”
