Nintendo has revealed that it plans to remove the voice acting behind ‘Fire Emblem: Three Houses’’ male protagonist voiced by Chris Niosi. This comes after accusations of abuse by former friends and girlfriends.

Nintendo’s Fire Emblem franchise is a turn-based strategy game that has widespread popularity with Japanese audiences and has also recently found a home in western audiences.

Its rapid growth in the West in 2013 lead to the franchise being saved from looming cancellation. This success has proven itself once again with the recent release of ‘Fire Emblem: Three Houses’. However, the game has come under fire for the inclusion of Chris Niosi’s voice acting, due to recent assault allegations.

Niosi, the voice of the male version of Byleth in Three Houses, wrote a blog post admitting to multiple of the accusations in his statement.

“My name is Christopher Niosi; also known as Kirbopher. I am 30 years old and for about half of my lifetime, I have horribly mistreated and abused friends, colleagues, and even my significant others. It is time that I addressed each and every one of those people and responded to their feelings with individual apologies for what I’ve done to hurt them.”

Nintendo has come out to address the situation and has stated that all of the Niosi’s lines will be re-recorded with the new voiceovers being included in a future patch.

“After assessing the situation, we decided to re-record the character’s voiceovers in ‘Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ and ‘Fire Emblem Heroes’ with another actor.”

Niosi’s voice acting credit was removed from another game in the series, ‘Fire Emblem Heroes’, with a new trailer showing new voice actor Zach Aguilar being credited.

Nintendo has made their stance very clear by changing their products in such a large way.

The allegations, however, have not seemed to have an effect on the bulk of sold units, nor does it seem to have impacted the current amount of copies being sold worldwide.

These are some serious allegations that Niosi is facing to the point where Nintendo has had to intervene and change their product. The allegations have not seemed to have an effect on the bulk of sold units nor does it seem to have impacted the current amount still being sold.
