In what comes as a relief to local bar-hopping aficionados, NSW pubs are set to finally let more people in thanks to the latest update in COVID-19 rules.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian today announced that up to 30 people will be able to gather in hospitality venues, including bars and restaurants, from Friday, October 23rd.
As reported by 7News, NSW pubs aren’t the only place in which big groups can now socialise, as 30 people will also be allowed to gather outdoors in public spaces.
In more welcome news, up to 300 people will be able to attend weddings, provided they remain seated.
The latest developments come after the recent ease in restrictions for NSW outdoor venues, with upwards of 500 people now permitted to attend open-air concerts.
Unsurprisingly, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced more conservative changes for the state’s capital over the weekend.
Those in Melbourne can now gather in public spaces in groups of up to ten people, from two households, ABC News reports.
Hairdressers will also be allowed to operate, with outdoor swimming pools and golf courses being permitted to open as well.
Undoubtedly the most significant change is the extension of the city’s travel radius to 25 kilometres, up from five.
People will also be allowed to leave the house for as long as they like, rather than have to adhere to a two-hour time limit.
On top of the most recent changes, Victorians also can look forward to new developments slated for Monday, November 2nd.
From that date, hospitality businesses will finally be allowed to seat patrons once again, with a limit on ten people per indoor space, and up to 50 outdoors.
As for group bookings, they will be capped at ten people, and Melburnians will also be allowed to leave home for any reason.
