After the pandemic panic buying at bottle-o’s way back in March, we were a tad worried whether our livers – or Australia’s alcohol stock – would make it this far. But alas, it’s time to give yourself a pat on the back because we’ve *somehow* made it to the eve of the last day of 2020.

Obvi’s NYE tomorrow will be filled with copious amounts of celebrating and, let’s be honest, alcohol. Making it this long through a pandemic is a helluva achievement, so why not hang up your goon bags and treat yourself to some fancy cocktails like the classy thing you are, when bringing in 2021?

In case the only mixed drink you know how to put together is a rum and coke, we’ve noted down some easy but effective cocktails for you to sip (or skull) while farewelling this hellhole of a year.

Tropical Ginger Beer Cocktail

Ingredients:

45ml Dark Rum

15ml pineapple and coconut Liqueur

15ml Fresh lime juice

15ml unsweetened pineapple juice

Bundaberg Ginger Beer

Instructions:

Add a healthy serving of ice to a tall glass

Pour all of the ingredients into the glass

Stir to combine

Garnish with candied orange or fresh lime and serve.

 100’s & 1000’s Shooters

Ingredients:

A packet of 100’s and 1000’s

Jar of Honey

125ml of vodka

Can of frosting (or you can use homemade frosting)

Instructions:

Put honey on a sauce and the 100’s and 1000’s in a small bowl.

Dip the shot glass upside down in the honey and then in the sprinkles

Heat the frosting until its smooth and pourable

Pour into a jar with a screw-top lid and add vodka

Shake until combined

Pour the shots into 100’s and 1000’s rimmed shot glasses and serve

 Pink Champagne Sangria

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of fresh mint

2 cups of grapefruit juice

1 bottle of bubbly (champagne/sparkling wine or prosecco)

1 sliced grapefruit

1/2 cup of soda water

Instructions:

Muddle the mint and grapefruit together with a pestle and mortar

Combine Grapefruit juice, bubbly and soda water together.

Top the liquid with the muddled mint and grapefruit and serve.
