The Gossip Girl reboot has poked fun at influencer Olivia Jade for her role in the now-infamous college admissions scandal of 2019.
In case you (somehow) missed it, Jade faced backlash when it was discovered that her parents had allegedly paid $500,000 in bribes to have her and her sister Isabella Giannulli admitted to the University of Southern California (USC).
It wasn’t just Jade’s reputation that took a hit, as her former Full House actor mother Lori Loughlin spent just under two months in jail for her involvement in the case.
On top of that, her father, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, served a five-month prison sentence for the crime.
Meanwhile, both Jade and her sister ultimately dropped out of USC and the former lost major partnerships with brands like Sephora.
Fast forward a couple of years and the incident has been referenced in the pilot episode of the brand new Gossip Girl series.
The scene sees Constance Billard School for Girls student Monet De Haan (Savannah Lee Smith) say, “You as someone who loses is bad for business.” Fellow student Luna La (Zión Moreno) replies, “And everything will be fine so long as you win. Olivia Jade gained followers when her mom went to jail.”

Jade has since taken to TikTok to upload a video of her reacting to the clip. “No, I didn’t,” she said while shaking her head.
Well, they do say that all publicity is good publicity, right?
