Olivia Wilde, who really just wants all the furore surrounding the collapse of her relationship with Jason Sudeikis to end, has now ‘cryptically’ posted a salad dressing recipe on social media.

Harmless, you might reasonably think? Not when a “special salad dressing” has been notoriously touted as the reason for an epic fight you’ve had with your ex.

Sudeikis and Wilde’s former nanny revealed a lot about the broken couple in a bombshell interview this week. The most notable claim was that Sudeikis became frustrated when the Booksmart director tried to leave their home to visit a certain Harry Styles, bringing the young pop star a salad accompanied by her “special dressing.”

When you’ve got a potential toy boy, you’ve got to pull out all the stops. Sudeikis allegedly pulled out all the stops as well, lying underneath Wilde’s car in an attempt to stop her leaving. Hollywood stars: they’re just like us!

“He (Sudeikis) said he was doing it on purpose to make her late going to see Harry,” the nanny claimed. “Jason told me: ‘She made this salad and she made her special dressing and she’s leaving with her salad to have dinner with (Harry).’”

Several days later, including after releasing a joint statement with Sudeikis denouncing the nanny’s claims, Wilde shared a photo of a salad dressing recipe on Instagram Story.

“Mix 2 tablespoons Grey Poupon with 2 tablespoons good red wine vinegar,” the recipe, taken from Nora Ephron’s book Heartburn, read (see below).

“Then, whisk constantly with a fork, slowly add 6 tablespoons olive oil, until the vinaigrette is thick and creamy; this makes a very strong vinaigrette that’s perfect for salad greens like arugula and watercress and endive.”

Here’s the kicker: Ephron’s book is based on her marriage to and divorce from Carl Bernstein, her second husband who cheated on her with the daughter of a former British prime minister.

What twists and turns will the Olivia Wilde-Jason Sudeikis-Harry Styles love triangle have in store for us next? If the pop star ever decides to break off his relationship with her, I fear the news might bring Twitter to a staggering halt.
