As most Aussies know, there are certain things you can and can’t claim as deductions on your tax return depending on your profession. If you’ve ever wondered what exact OnlyFans creators can claim, then read on for enlightenment.
OnlyFans creators – who can be classified as sex workers – can claim “tools” required for their jobs, this includes sex toys, bed sheets and fetish equipment, as well as phone and internet costs that are related to the content creation.
They can also legally claim “self education costs” like tickets to Sexpo, bondage nights, and some sex parties. In some cases, gym fees, lingerie and an Airbnb used for filming are also eligible for tax deductions.
But, according to H&R Block’s director of tax communications Mark Chapman, who was interviewed by Daily Telegraph, boob jobs or any other cosmetic surgery or procedure isn’t considered tax deductible by the Australian Tax Organisation.
“We had one office where there was somebody trying to claim for fake breasts,” Chapman told the publication.
“And unfortunately, we couldn’t allow it because those sorts of medical procedures simply don’t allow for that. That’s a pretty extreme example of the kind of lengths that people will go to, to claim things.”
He added, “If the expense relates to your personal appearance in any way, really, it isn’t going to be allowable — it just isn’t.”

“Botox, laser hair removal, all that kind of stuff simply won’t be allowed by the by the ATO.
“And similarly for cosmetic procedures such as facelifts or a boob job, people do try to claim that they are necessary to look good and therefore, that it helps them generate their income.
“But unfortunately, that doesn’t really pass muster with the ATO.
“Basically, medical procedures of any sort are pretty much pretty much out for a tax deduction.”
