Warner Bros. are currently promoting Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One which is set in the future (2045) but somehow has a retro feel to it – the flip of Star Wars, I suppose, which is set in the past but has a futuristic feel.

Regardless, as part of the promotional push, Warner have rebooted a number of title sequences from their best ’80s and ’90s shows in glorious 8-bit.

They’ve also done the opening to Mad Men, which was made in the ’00s but is set in the ’60s, but which we haven’t embedded the ’80s-style titles, for fear that such anachronisms would cause the universe to implode.
