Opera Australia are gearing up for a return like no other.

As reported by Concrete Playground, Opera Australia are introducing an awesome open-air program for 2022 with world-class operas.

Come next year, the organisation will be transforming Cockatoo Island by into an open-air opera venue with Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

Opera Australia have showed Carmen in their roster before, however now it is set to take centre stage in a whole new way.

Obviously because the whole experience is going to be so dazzling and extraordinary, they know that everyone will want to make an absolute night out of it.

And what better way to round out an evening than with a sleepover?

The best part is, there’s also options. You can opt to book seats on Cockatoo Island or jump on a boat and checkout the performance projected onto a big screen.

Earlier on in 2022, Opera Australia have also announced the return of their Sydney Harbour series, Handa Opera on March 25 until April 24th.

And what show will be staged to mark this glorious occasion?

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera no less. While this event had been postponed due to the pandemic, it’s fari to say that it will sure as hell be worth the wait.

Bring it on!

The Cockatoo Island event is locked in the calendar to kick off from November 25th until December 18th, 2022.
