Cuban music legends Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club will play a string of shows as part of their ‘Adios Tour’ this March.

1997’s Buena Vista Social Club – a collection of songs recorded and curated by Juan de Marcos González with a roster of Cuban musicians – was the album that brought Cuban music to the world’s attention, and collected a Grammy in the process. Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club carry that legacy on, comprised of Cuban musicians young and old, some of whom appear on the original recordings. Now, after touring around the world together for several years playing sold out and critically acclaimed shows, they’re calling it quits. They’ll be farewelling Australia with performances at the WOMADelaide festival and Brisbane, Melboure and Sydney venues this March.

The Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club play Sydney’s State Theatre on Friday March 13 with tickets available from Ticketmaster.
