This Australia Day, Paramatta will be hosting a day of non-stop family entertainment from dawn until dusk.

On the 26th, Parramatta Park will be inundated with a hot-air balloon display, a showcase of classic vehicles, amusement rides, delectable food and more. It will also be brimming with kids activities and live entertainment.

A bunch of Australia’s brightest musicians will be soundtracking the event with three hours of free live music. Headlined by ‘Geronimo’ hitmakers, Sheppard. They’ll be joined by triple j Unearthed alumni Asta, X-Factor finalists Jess + Matt, reggae outfit Green Hand Band, Brisbane rockers Port Royal and pop up-and-comer, Hallie.

There will also be a range of live entertainment destined to keep both kids and adults enthralled. Aussie icons Bananas in Pyjamas and Sean Murphy will be holding down the fort for family entertainment, they will also be joined by Sesame Street Down Under.

As well as rousing live entertainment, there will also be a bunch of arts and crafts activities, like mask and jewellery making, mural painting and heaps more.

If you consider yourself a bit of a history buff, you can take a glimpse into the Dairy Cottage Precinct of Parramatta Park — built in 1796. Old Government House will also be open for the day, with entry via gold coin donation.

The festivities will end with a vibrant fireworks display at 9 pm.
