After a taking a break last year, PAX Australia has confirmed its live event will return to Melbourne in October 2021.
Good news, video game and pop-culture lovers. PAX Australia is back!
The company officially revealed the news via Twitter, stating the following:
“Over the past 12 months we’ve all been challenged from every direction. At PAX Aus HQ we tasked ourselves to think differently about how to best connect this amazing community of gaming fans. We’ve focused on delivering meaningful virtual content such as PAX Online and PAX Presents and our brand new PAX Australia Discord channel.
Now, we are very excited to announce that PAX Australia will be back in 2021 as a live event, just as you remember it!”
Naturally, fans are over the moon.

The event will once again take place at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 8 to October 10, 2021. And as is the case with most modern outings, it will follow all health guidelines in place at that time.
For now that means tickets are limited to adhere to capacity restrictions. However, organisers do hope to release more should restrictions continue to relax.
It’s also worth noting that we’re not entirely sure what October will look like, but thankfully that’s all been thought about too. As a result, if you can’t travel due to unforeseen COVID-19 border closures, your ticket purchase will be refunded.
Your accommodation and travel plans, on the other hand. That’s a whole other ball game.
It’s still early days, so no word yet on what will actually be at the event. But if history is anything to go by, you can expect plenty of indie showcases and cosplay events.
If you want to nab yourself a ticket, keep your eyes peeled on PAX Australia’s social channels for any updates. We’ll start packing our bags now… just in case.
