According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy winner is believed to have quit due to creative differences with Glover, who is also serving as the series’ executive producer.
Glover, who co-created the show with showrunner Francesca Sloane, will soon recast the role while continuing to work towards a 2022 premiere.
The series, which was inspired by the 2005 movie starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is being reimagined for Amazon Prime.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Waller-Bridge and Glover, who previously played alongside each other in the 2018 movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, remain amicable.
Although Waller-Bridge may have left the project, she remains busy working on Indiana Jones 5, as well as executive producing the upcoming final season of Killing Eve.
On top of that, she recently contributed to the script of the latest James Bond film No Time to Die, which is finally set for release next month following several delays.
Meanwhile, Glover is continuing to work on his comedy-drama series Atlanta, as well as the upcoming Amazon Prime series Hive.
Hive is rumoured to revolve around a Beyoncé-like figure and has also recruited Barack Obama’s daughter Malia to work behind the scenes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
