A KFC employee has revealed a change to one of the chicken chain’s popular items, sparking outrage amongst Australian consumers.
The Zinger Box had previously contained a Zinger burger, three Wicked Wings, a portion of chips, and a regular potato and gravy with a drink.
But that has now changed – and when one staffer from the popular chicken chain shared the news to TikTok, the news went viral.

Wicked Wings are no longer included in the meal, being replaced by two pieces of their boneless ‘Hot and Crispy’ chicken instead.

An official KFC spokesperson confirmed the change to News.com.au.
“Since adding ‘Hot and Crispy’ to our permanent menu, we’ve put a new spin on our Zinger Box, offering it with two pieces of Hot and Crispy instead of three Wicked Wings,” they said. “But fear not, Zinger Box fans, you can still get your hands on the classic Zinger Box with three Wicked Wings if that’s the way you swing. Just ask our friendl y team or update in the KFC App.”
The original video, which has had over 2.7 million views, sparked a fierce debate amongst fans of the fried chicken brand.
“I swear KFC hates their customers,” one commented.
“Kfc has massacred their menu in the last few years,” wrote another.
“Nup this is April Fools,” said another.
Some commenters claimed the boneless option was superior to Wicked Wings, prompting a follow-up video from KFC Sam.

“Some say it’s more controversial than pineapple on pizza!” Sam captioned the video.
The KFCsam TikTok account has been the source of many finger-lickin’ tidbits, including the scrapping of grilled tenders and the triumphant return of the Fave Crave Box.
KFC’s Hot and Crispy boneless chicken first made its debut on the menu in 2021 as a limited-time option, but was brought back as a permanent menu item in most states this year.
