COVID-19 has seen unexpected heroes rise to the occasion. We’ve had Britney Spears call for a socialist rising, demanding a strike and redistribution of wealth. Now we have adult content site Pornhub donating 50,000 surgical masks to those on the COVID-19 frontline.

The porn paladin’s donated 50,000 surgical masks to healthcare workers across New York City — the epicentre of the US outbreak. 15,000 of the masks were shipped to the paramedic’s labour union FDNY EMS Local 2507, 15,000 to Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94, and 20,000 to Long Island’s Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital. They’ve also donated €50,000 to help purchase masks and medical equipment in Germany, Italy, and Spain.

In addition to that, they’ve donated $25,000 to the Sex Workers Outreach project to support sex workers that have lost work among the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout April, Pornhub will waive its cut of models’ video sales. After a processing fee, models will keep 85% of their sales, a 20% increase from the usual 65%. This is crucial for sex workers experiencing financial insecurity in these unprecedented times.

If you didn’t think Pornhub could be more heroic, think again. For the next 30 days, they will make their Premium service free. Pornhub Premium usually costs $9.99 USD a month. Soldier on brethren’s.

“With nearly one billion people in lockdown across the world because of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s important that we lend a hand and provide them with an enjoyable way to pass the time,” Pornhub Vice President Corey said in a press statement. “We hope by expanding our offer of free Pornhub Premium worldwide, people have an extra incentive to stay home and flatten the curve.”
