Last week, the public was offered an unfortunate insight into the culture of Sydney’s elite after a muck-up day scavenger hunt for The Sydney Shore School in North Sydney was leaked, which has now led to the existence of #ProudShoreMums.

Dubbed the Twiwizard Shorenament, the muck-up challenge encouraged students to take part in a number of heinous, amoral tasks like “spit on a homeless man”, “have sex with a woman who weighs over 80kg, is aged over 40 or one who is deemed a 3/10 or lower,” “shit on a train,” and more.

The tournament incited widespread backlash. Now, Shore School mothers have taken to social media to support their sons amid the controversy.

Mothers have been taking to Instagram and Facebook to share photos of their kids in the Shore uniform, hashtagging the pictures #ProudShoreMum with blue and white hearts to represent the school’s colours. It’s almost like they’re asking for their kids to be bullied.

As The Sydney Morning Herald report, one parent revealed that the social media movements was a direct response to the backlash the Shore boys had been subjected to since SMH shared an expose on the despicable scavenger hunt.

According to the parent, since the publication of the article, Shore students have been approached by journalists whilst waiting for public transport, and been abused by members of the public on the way to school.

“So many boys have been getting verbally abused, screamed at by the public,” a mother revealed. “They are all happy it’s school holidays.”

Naturally, it didn’t take long for the outrage of the Moira Rose-core mothers to become a meme.
