Griffin Theatre’s newest production is a comic thriller about betrayal, forgiveness and North Korea’s fleeting interest in giant rabbits.

A Rabbit For King Jong-il is loosely based on events that took place in 2006, when German giant rabbit breeder Karl Szmolinsky was invited by the North Korean government to oversee a breeding program but had his trip mysteriously cancelled by the nanny state.

Lee Lewis directs a cast that includes Kate Box (Tender), Kit Brookman (Twelfth Night), Kaeng Chan (Australia Day) and Steve Rodgers (Cloudstreet).

The season runs from Saturday October 17 to Saturday November 21 at the SBW Stables Theatre, with the first preview happening on Saturday October 10. For more information and bookings visit the website.
