Rebel Wilson has finally addressed being forced to reveal her relationship with LA designer Ramona Agruma in a new interview.

Rebel Wilson has finally addressed being threatened to be outed in a new interview, calling it ‘grubby behaviour’. The actress also revealed that she and LA designer Ramona Agruma had yet to reveal their relationship to their families when Wilson was forced to post about it on social media.

Back in June, the Sydney Morning Herald came under fire when a journalist – who had discovered Wilson’s relationship with Agruma – emailed the actress’ team and gave her two days to comment on the story, at the end of which they would publish the news.

Wilson, however, chose to announce the relationship herself on Instagram, which caused said journalist to go on a rant, in which he claimed she had ‘gazumped’ the story – said article has now been deleted

In a new interview with The Australian, Wilson finally addressed the time leading up to the announcement and called the whole situation ‘grubby behaviour.’

“I just thought it was kind of grubby behaviour,” she  said. “Basically, with the situation where a journalist is threatening to out you, you’ve got to hurry, and some people we didn’t get a chance to tell before it came out publicly. And that’s not ideal.”

Wilson also said that forcing her hand had made things difficult for the couple – both she and Agruma, she revealed, had family members who were not as ‘accepting’.

“There are levels to telling people. You tell your close family and your friends and not everybody.” She said: “Across our two families, not everybody is as accepting as what you’d hope for, and we were trying to be respectful to those people and tell them in our own way.”

She also reflected on how the sudden scrutiny was especially difficult for her partner. “It was just a hard few days, especially for my partner, who’s not used to being in the public eye and having to deal with stuff like that,” Wilson said.
