In absolutely devastating news, it has been confirmed that TV and movie legend Willie Garson has passed away at the age of 57.

As reported by TV LineGarson had been battling cancer although this has not been confirmed as his cause of death.

Garson has been a fan favourite of many all over the world since the 1980s, with his quick-witted and loveable characters.

The actor had recently reprised his all time role of Carrie Bradshaw’s “unidentified older gay gentleman” best friend in Sex and the City for its reboot, And Just Like That.

He looked more fabulous than ever on the set of And Just Like That, where he appears in scenes with Carrie.

Garson’s son, Nathen Garson has taken to social media to make the heartbreaking news official, with a gut-wrenching and emotional message to his late father.

He wrote, “I love you so much papa. Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.”

“You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now. You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared you’re love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it ❤️😘”
