Move over Aerobics Oz Stars, because Sydney’s wildly popular aerobics fitness class Retrosweat and furniture gurus Koala have joined forces for a 12-episode aerobic home workout series they’ve dubbed The Great Australian Workout.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably used isolation as an excuse to binge on your favourite sugary snacks, only to discover an unwelcome couple of kilos as a result – but never fear, The Great Australian Workout is here to kick our collective butts into gear.
As of Wednesday, Retrosweat have dropped 12 episodes of ‘80s-inspired workouts for you to get your sweat on at home – featuring Retrosweat queen Shannon Dooley – and unlike that unused gym membership, it won’t cost you a cent.
Bringing some colour, spandex and iconic ’80s tunes to our dreary iso-lives, Retrosweat’s home workouts aim to “get your post-iso body ready with Shannon Dooley as she takes you back in time with an 80’s Australiana inspired workout that will get you moving from the comfort of your own home”, which already sounds way better than having to brave our local gym after a several month-long Cadbury binge.
On top of giving us a reason to get off the couch before we indulge in our 130th Netflix binge, Retrosweat are also showing off some of the best 80s workout moves and outfits from home gym-goers on TikTok, with the best moves in the running to win a Koala sofa and a Ken Done artwork.
So if you’re keen to sweat off those iso kilos and get those endorphins going, keep an eye on Retrosweat’s IGTV channel as well as Koala social media channels for every new episode of The Great Australian Workout – there’ll be an episode every day for two weeks.
So what are you waiting for? Get the stereo blasting and check out all 12 workouts here if you want to shake off that iso-binge.
