As part of Vivid Sydney 2015, Cameroon-born multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona will be performing in Sydney this month.

The incredibly talented Bona lives and breathes music. As an infant, Bona came down with malaria. The only thing that would soothe him was the sound of the balafon, an African wooden xylophone. After his recovery, he learned the art of instrument-making from his grandfather, and he hasn’t looked back. When he was 11, Bona taught himself guitar, after building his own using bicycle brake cable as strings.

Widely considered one of the world’s best bassists, Richard Bona will be sharing his wealth of talent in a special show as part of Vivid Sydney.

Be delighted by Richard Bona’s talents at The Basement on Saturday May 30.
